Whimsical Wishes Policies

Last minute Booking Gratuity- Effective After January 1, 2024

We love helping your make your event more magical and we appreciate as much notice as possible for your party to ensure we have staff available. 4-6 weeks in advance is preferred. Packages booked less than 2 weeks in advance have a $20 per staff member automatic gratuity added, provided we are able to accommodate the request. 100% of the tip is given to the attending staff as a “thank you” for adjusting their personal plans to attend your event.

Safety Procedures

Clients must ensure no harm is to be done to company property or staff. If staff feels they are in a situation that is rude, inappropriate, or unsafe, our staff is permitted to temporarily step away from the party until the issue is resolved. If you are contacted  to resolve an issue that took place and the issue cannot be handled, the staff is permitted to exit the party permanently. You are not eligible for a refund if staff leaves due to a safety/harassment concern. ​

Please Note:  The performer should NEVER be left to care for children. A parent or responsible adult must be present at all times. ​

Grace Period Policy

Staff arrives at the event location at the time specified on the Booking Contract. We allow up to a 5-minute Grace Period where we can wait in the car to allow you to get your guests prepared if needed. After 5 minutes, our time clock begins, so if your guests aren't ready, you may have less time with the character. For this reason we highly recommend booking your package time to account for late guest arrival.

Payment

A non-refundable deposit of at least 50% is required along with the completed Booking Contract to secure your event in our calendar. The balance can be paid up to 24 hours prior to your event through Venmo. We do not accept checks.

If you choose to tip, to “keep the magic alive”, the Royal Helper will collect any cash tips, not the character. You can also leave a tip through Venmo.

ALLERgies

The client must inform Whimsical Wishes of any allergies to food or products such as nail polish, latex, acrylics, temporary tattoos, or face paints prior to the event or party. The client understands that Whimsical Wishes is NOT responsible for any injuries or allergic reactions that occur at your event.

Travel Fees

We are based in Salem, VA and currently generally service up to about 1.5 hours from our headquarters of Salem, VA (zip code 24153).  See below for the travel fees. Fees are a flat rate. Please note, Travel Parties (25 miles from Salem or more) are only available for 1 hour party or over.

35-45 miles from Salem – $35 flat rate

45-55 miles from Salem- $40 flat rate

55-65 miles from Salem- $45 flat rate

Property Damage Policy

We bring many things to a party to help us make a magical experience for your guests. In order to prevent damage, we discourage any guests from taking items from our party bag.  Any damage to property caused by guest use of staff property may result in a bill to replace or repair the item(s).

Payment

Bounce Houses

Everyone loves a bounce house—us included! We're always happy to attend parties that feature them. However, if your bounce house is set up indoors, we kindly ask that our portion of the party take place in a separate room. If that's not possible, we ask that the bounce house be temporarily deflated during our visit.

This helps ensure that everyone can fully enjoy the magical experience of meeting their royal guest! Indoor bounce houses can be quite loud, and even with a microphone and speaker, it can be difficult for performers to be heard.
